And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.
-- 1 Peter 5:4

For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

Memorization Helps (Chain #4315)

1.  Bible facts and the location of certain verses, chapters, and teachings.  The best methods of memorization are repetition and association of similar things.  In trying to memorize the location of important verses, look for coincidences that occur.  For example:

The 3:16's.  John 3:16 is considered the greatest promise in the Bible.  Recalling this can help us find other important information that occurs in a 3:16 passage, such as the preciousness of wisdom, Proverbs 3:16; the Lord's possessions, Malachi 3:16-17; the two baptisms, Luke 3:16; the mighty name, Ac 3:16; the temple of the Holy Spirit, 1 Corinthians 3:16; the indwelling Word of Christ, Colossians 3:16; the mystery of godliness, 1 Timothy 3:16; the value of the Scripture, 2 Timothy 3:16.

The 2:10's about Jesus.  The joy bringer, Luke 2:10; the character builder, Ephesians 2:10; the name to be worshiped, Philippians 2:10; the completer of life, Colossians 2:10; the author of our salvation, Hebrews 2:10; the crown giver, Rev 2:10.

The 4:13's, the gifts of Jesus: Satisfaction, John 4:13-14; transformation, Acts 4:13; inspiration, Ephesians 4:13; power, Philippians 4:13; comfort, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14.

Using a series of verses like those above will greatly aid the memory. Too many verses in a series, however, may be confusing.

2.  Other Coincidences: The seventh chapter of Genesis contains references to the waters of death and in the seventh chapter of John, Jesus speaks of the water of life (John 7:37-38).

Three passages that contain solemn warnings for religious leaders all contain the number three: Jeremiah 23, Ezekiel 33, and Matthew 23.

3.  Last Words: The last recorded words of people in the Bible are significant topics for study. For example:

The Last Words of

Jesus (on power), Acts 1:8
James (on soul-winning), James 5:20
Peter (on growth), 2 Peter 3:18
Jude (on divine support), Jude 24-25
John (on divine grace), Revelation 22:21
